Background of the Bureau
The Dire Dawa Administration Education Bureau is the principal governmental body responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all educational activities within the Dire Dawa Administration, one of Ethiopia's two chartered cities.
Historical Overview
Established following the restructuring of Ethiopia's federal system in the early 1990s, the Bureau was created to ensure equitable access to quality education for all residents of Dire Dawa. Since its inception, it has played a pivotal role in transforming the educational landscape of the city.

The Bureau operates under the following key mandates:
